Smart India Hackathon 2024 at MIET

 

MIET, Meerut recently organized a Smart India Hackathon under the patronage of AICTE, IIC, and MHRD. In this students presented technology-based solutions in various sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and women's safety, which was a step towards solving important problems in society.

One of the notable projects at the hackathon was a platform to enhance the safety of women allowing them to connect with their families and nearest police stations in case of emergencies. Another project developed a system to monitor soil and air quality in Meerut and surrounding areas. The students also presented digital solutions to reduce traffic jams in urban areas.

A total of 35 teams participated out of which Ms Neha Sharma (Senior Software Engineer, Coforge), Nishant Bhardwaj (Associate Staff Engineer, Nagaro), Aditya Kumar (Manager, Data Science, KPMG, UK) & Prof. Vijay Sharma (Professor, CSE, MIET) were selected for their excellent ideation and implementation. The event was successfully organized by Miss Mohini Pritam Singh (AICTE Idea Lab Coordinator), Dr. Swati Sharma (HOD, IT), and Dr. Mukesh Rawat (Dean, Projects). MIET Chairman Vishnu Saran, Vice Chairman Punit Aggarwal, and Campus Director (Prof.) Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh appreciated the initiative and promised to encourage such programs in the future.
