Dr. Ram Chakka is the
Director Research (MIET) & head of
Information Technology department. He received his B.E. (Electrical and Electronics, 1980), M.S.
(Engineering) (Computer Science and Automation, 1986, by
research and course work) both from the Indian Institute
of Science (I.I.Sc.), Bangalore. He obtained his Ph.D.
(Computer Science, 1995) from the Newcastle University,
UK, while working there as a member of staff.
In the past, Dr. Chakka
worked at I.I.Sc-Bangalore, Newcastle University,
Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine (London),Middlesex
University (London), Norfolk State University (USA), Sri
Sathya Sai University (India), and RGMCET (India). At
Norfolk State University, he was awarded the
Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding
Scholarship by the School of Science and
Technology, NSU, for his contributions.
Dr. Chakka has published
over 50 papers in SCI and ISI-listed journals,
peer-refereed Research Volumes and peer-refereed
International Conferences, in the areas of
Performability Modeling and
Evaluation of Advanced Computing Systems (ACS), Next
Generation Networks (NGN) and Flexible Manufacturing
Systems (FMS). He has supervised a Ph.D. thesis in the
United Kingdom, and currently supervising a
number of Ph.D. students in Europe and India. Dr. Chakka
has been a referee to a number of prestigious SCI, ISI
listed journals and International Conferences. He has
been on the Technical Committe of a number of National
and International conferences.
Dr. Ram Chakka’s research
contributions in Markov processes and Generalized
Markovian Queuing Models for the emerging high speed
telecommunication systems and networks are well known
and regarded highly. He is acknowledged as an authority
in his subjects in India and abroad. Dr. Ram Chakka is
listed in the 2009 edition of Marqui's Who is Who in
the World.
