Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) was established in MIET with the aim of giving quality education. It is an inventive academic center for education, research and creativity in key areas of Computer Science. Department is equipped with labs, modern auditoriums with well qualified and learned faculties having specialization in computer domain.

Department empowers students to have excellence in scientific education, technical education and research to serve as a valuable resource for industry and society. Department promotes collaboration with industry (companies including IBM, Wipro, TCS) to achieve better integration of theory. Department offers industrial visits and Personality development courses to fulfill the gap between industry and academics. Department is empowering students by providing latest technologies used in Industry like RAD, DB-2, RSA, embedding programming to bridge the gap between Industry and academia.

To educate undergraduates and graduates in the field of Computer Science & Engineering to fulfill the requirement of skilled human resources with focus on sustainable quality education, training on educating students coming from all socioeconomic levels to convert them into socially responsible and globally competent technocrat.

Program Educational Objectives

The Computer Science & Engineering Department produces graduates with a strong foundation of technical knowledge and prepares them with problem solving, teamwork, and good communication skills that will raise their personality and professional career. The specific program educational objectives are as follows:

  1. To provide our graduates a concrete understanding of fundamental concept of computer science and engineering by providing sustainable quality education to meet industry requirement.
  2. To provide our graduates with an education assuring an adequate foundation in science and mathematics relevant to computing and also to pursue higher studies.
  3. To provide technical knowledge to enhance the analysis and design skills for implementing, formulating and solving multidisciplinary computing problems.
  4. To produce graduates with adequate cognitive and communication skills, who can function effectively as computer science professionals to fulfill the requirements needed for skilled human resources.
  5. To prepare graduates with awareness of life-long learning with an understanding of their ethical and social responsibility to become responsible citizen.

Laboratories

Data Structure Lab Objective: The objective of the Lab is to make student�s competent professionals by introducing abstract concepts and show how those concepts are useful in problem solving and then show how the abstraction can be made concrete by using a programming language. It enables the students to learn the technique of problem solving and then writing efficient program for those problem. Equal emphasis is placed on both the abstract and concrete version of a concept so that the students learn about concepts itself and its implementation and application. Outcome: If you complete the lab successfully, you can be expected to have the following competencies:

  1. Using asymptotic notation and solving hard recurrences.
  2. A clear understanding of both theory and implementation details underlying some basic data structures and data abstractions such as lists, stacks, queues, priority queues, hash tables, search trees (including balanced ones) and graphs.
  3. The ability to write correct programs using these and related data structures.

Numerical Technique Lab Objective: The advent of high-speed digital computers and its increasing use in various branches of science and engineering has led to increased demand for courses in numerical methods. Generally, engineering problems are solved first by developing mathematical models of systems and then applying analytical methods to solve equations. Numerical Techniques Lab is an introduction to computational and mathematical techniques for solving problems in engineering applications. Students will study error analysis, problem conditioning, and stability of algorithms. Topics include numerical solution of nonlinear equations; matrix algebra; Gaussian elimination; Newton Raphson etc. Outcome:

  1. Students will be able to solve the complex problems of mathematics for eg. Error evaluation etc. by using numerical techniques method.
  2. Students can use these methods in the engineering applications.

Operating System Lab Objective: The objective of the course is to provide basic knowledge of computer operating system structures and functioning. Outcome:

  1. Upon completing the course the student is capable of explaining the basic structure and functioning of operating system.
  2. Student is able to point the problems related to process management and synchronization as well as is able to apply learned methods to solve basic problems.
  3. Student is capable of explaining the cause and effect related to deadlocks and is able to analyze them related to common circumstances in operating systems.
  4. The student is able to explain the basics of memory management, the use of virtual memory in modern operating systems as well as the structure of the most common file-systems.

Object Oriented Technology Lab Objective: Students will gain the ability to implement the object oriented techniques in java Outcome: The student will be able to

  1. Work on the simple functions like subtraction ,addition etc not by using import package with the help of java programming language
  2. Implement method overloading
  3. Implement constructor overloading
  4. Implement the properties of inheritance and overriding by using super keyword
  5. Implement multithreading by using sleep command
  6. Draw an applet in java to make a smiling face
  7. Do event handling by implementing swings

  1. In an IBM Certification Test for 279 participants (Faculty & Students) for DB2 Tool; Total 275 got certification in first attempt (Faculty 56, Students 219). TGMC acclaimed for student projects in their final round. TGMC appreciated the student for the performance.
